On the Tee: 29 September 2026

From the Director of Golf

The end of the main golfing season is nearly upon us, with only a handful of trophies still to play for. There have been some fantastic performances throughout the season, and that certainly didn't stop last week.

Last week's winners

Scoring was exceptional in our two finals over the weekend, despite the smaller fields.

Round of the week

In the Bessie Thompson Final, it was Evan Raffell who produced the standout performance, blowing away the competition with an excellent eight-under-par nett 62.

Team golf

Triangular title retained

There was also more team success, with Blyth retaining the Triangular title following a comprehensive victory over Backworth and Newbiggin in the final round of the competition on Sunday. A brilliant way to finish the series, and congratulations to everyone who represented the Club.

Golf course survey

Your feedback is in

The results of our recent Golf Course Survey and Questionnaire are now in. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide their feedback.

I will be sharing a report based on the findings over the next couple of days. The results will also help form the basis of a Blyth Golf Club Golf Course Improvement Plan, giving us a clear direction for the areas we need to prioritise and improve moving forward.

Keep an eye out for the report shortly.

Course etiquette

Play your part

As always, please continue to respect the golf course and play your part in keeping Blyth Golf Club in the best possible condition for everyone.

  • Repair pitch marks
  • Replace divots
  • Rake bunkers properly
  • Take care around the greens and tees

Small actions from every golfer make a big difference over the course of a busy season.

Thank you for your continued support, and enjoy your golf!
